Vienna is the capital of Austria along the Donau River. The oldest part of the city was built on the southern bank. Vienna International Airport IATA code VIE is the international airport of Vienna. Situated in Schwechat, 18 km  southeast of central Vienna, 226 km of Budapest and 62 km of Bratislava. It is the country's biggest airport. Main airlines are Austrian Airlines, Niki and Lufthansa. 


Vienna has a well-developed public transport network. Buses, trains, trams and underground lines will take you almost anywhere in the city. Vienna public transport Wiener Linien operates five underground lines, trams and buses lines and  night lines. Tickets are available at ticket machines at most underground stations or at kiosks.

Parking :

The streets are narrow and many of them are one-way which can get confusing for a visitor who does not know the town. It is hard to find a parking space in the center, you can only park for a short time in the center and selected places. These parking permits can be bought is small stores.
On the city border there are five parking spaces, you can leave your car behind and continue with public transport to the center.
